What is the Medjugorje Youth Festival?

The first Youth Festival was held in the summer of 1990 and was initiated by Fr. Slavko Barbaric. It began as 100 young people in a tent and has increased in size every year.

Today, around 50,000 young people from 69 countries come to the Youth Festival for one week to celebrate their faith.

The schedule for the festival contains Holy Mass, prayer, praise, talks and an abundance of other activities around Medjugorje. During the festival, hundreds of priests come to hear confessions and help individuals to grow in their faith by being a witness to Jesus Christ and His Blessed Mother.
 

When is it?

The Festival is celebrated annually from August 1st to 6th.
